Holiday Decor and Events!
October is by far my favorite month of the year. Celebrating chilly weather, spooky nights and the arrival of the rainy season, I am thrilled to announce the October design class. Drawing from my most beloved vessel shape, the urn, we will create moody, lush arrangements that evoke the glory of the full moon and the autumnal equinox. Sign up here to reserve your spot as they will go fast!
PS the class is on the eve of October 29th at 7pm, location the gorgeous Dress Theory! See you all soon!

September design class:
Can't wait to post photos from the August late summer arrangement class! What a lovely group of ladies. They were such champs! I couldn't have been more proud!
For this months class we will visit sustainable design. A discussion will be lead on the floral industry and our role as conscious consumers. To participate in this class you will be asked to read Amy Stewart's Flower Confidential. Please R.S.V.P. on the Floral page to reserve your spot!

Let me Introduce Myself
You are probably wondering where I get off thinking I know something about weddings, or even flowers for that matter. Well it's story time once again on the blog:
Not so long ago, in the ever-green (ever impressive) state of Washington, a very typical leo lady child was born. Headstrong and mischievous from the very start, she lived her life how she wanted it. Her time in the PNW was limited as her father was a military man. Moving back to Texas with her mom and sister secured within her a deep longing for moss between her toes and rain in her hair. Growing up she frequently chose bridal magazines over toys or treats. In her teenage years she spent late nights in crafting, over late nights out with friends. Her first and most influential affair was with one Martha Stewart (not pictured).
To the annoyance of her high school teachers, she read her way through every class and spent all her time in the art/journalism room creating layouts for their small yearbook and designing sets for the theater department. Then....an act of God.... one day at lunch a small terra cotta pot filled with a delightfully petite garden arrangement was delivered to her dear friend Hallie on her birthday. “What's this?”, she thought, “Flowers not in a ginger jar? Not stuffed with carnations and bullet roses?” She needed to know: Where has this magic come from, and since when do I love flowers so much??? With only a slight nudge from her step-mother (thank you Sally!) she was quickly spending her Saturdays and after-school time at the one and only Rosetree Floral Design. She fell hard and fast. She couldn't get enough, with determination and fantastic teachers, her destiny was set. She moved on with a certification of design with Emily Wooton and headed off to her next adventure, college.
Highlights along the way:
working at Flowergarden, moving to Austin to complete Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Yoga and exploring creative, native garden design at Big Red Sun Nursery. Not to mention getting the man of her dreams to fall for her...(seen above! :D)
And now we move into the BIG TIME! After doing a few weddings on the side in college she decided to try her hand with the major leagues by joining the team at Bows and Arrows. Alicia and Adam (the husband and wife team behind Bows and Arrows) are artists, makers, do-ers and shakers! They can take any idea and create something extraordinary.(I personally believe they are responsible for every wedding trend in the last five years, they are visionaries.) Never in her life had she ever seen so much talent, so much work and so many weddings! Here she honed in on her skills and together they created some lovely arrangements, photo-shoots, weddings and events. Working in such a fast paced, editorially driven environment pushed her to limits and made her who she is today. Last year, with their encouragement, our leo lady packed her bags (her tent, her farming boots and her clippers!)and headed back to the northwest to pursue her next big adventure. With her fiance on her arm, and her vision clear as day, she's not looking back!
